Artificial Intelligence for Everyone

AI  FOR  EVERYONE

“Success is creating AI would be the biggest event in human history. Unfortunately, it might also be the last unless we learn how to avoid the risks.”

                             -Stephen Hawking

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the intelligence exhibited by machines or software. Artificial Intelligence is wide ranging branch of computer science concerned with building smart machines capable of performing tasks typically require human intelligence. AI is an interdisciplinary science with multiple approaches, but advancements in machine learning and deep learning are creating a paradigm shift in virtually every sector of the tech industry. It is the science and engineering of making intelligent machines.

Back in the 1950s, the fathers of the field Minsky and McCarthy, described artificial intelligence as any task performed by a program or a machine that, if a human carried out the same activity, we would say the human had to apply intelligence to accomplish the task. AI has become more popular today thanks to increased data volumes, advanced algorithms, and improvements in computing power and storage.

AI can be used to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of decision making and to improve lives through new apps and services. It can be used to solve some of the thorny policy problems of climate change, infrastructure and healthcare. It is no surprise that governments are therefore looking at ways to build AI expertise and understanding, both within the wider community. AI systems will typically demonstrate at least some of the following behaviors associated with human intelligence: planning, learning, reasoning, problem solving, knowledge representation, perception, motion, manipulation and to a lesser extent, social intelligence and creativity.

Machine learning provides machines the ability to learn and understand without being explicitly programmed. It is based on the system of probability. It is used for optical character recognition, web security, imitation learning etc. whereas AI is human intelligence demonstrated by machines to perform simple to complex tasks. The idea behind AI is to program machines to carry out tasks in more human ways or smart ways. It is based on characteristics of human intelligence. It is used in various fields.  The machines haven’t taken over. Not yet at least. However, they are seeping their way into our lives, affecting how we live, work and entertain ourselves. From voice powered personal assistants like Siri and Alexa, to more underlying and fundamental technologies such as behavioral algorithms, suggestive searches and autonomously powered self-driving vehicles boasting powerful predictive capabilities, there are several examples and applications of artificial intelligence in use today.

Application of Artificial Intelligence :

1. In Healthcare

AI describes the ability of a machine to learn the way a human learns, for example, through image recognition and discovering patterns in complex situations. AI in health care is changing the way information gets collected, analysed and developed for patient care. In the very complex world of healthcare, AI tools can support human providers to provide faster service, diagnose issues and analyse data to identify trends or genetic information that would predispose someone to a particular disease. AI-assisted robotic surgery, Virtual nursing assistants, medical image analysis, AI-assisted medical diagnoses, Drug recovery, Medical data security, clinical trials, medical risk prediction are the applications of AI in healthcare.

2. In Agriculture

AI technologies are a key ingredient in improving crop yield and sustainability as farmer face the challenge of feeding a growing population. The use of AI in agriculture helps the farmer to understand the data insights such as temperature, precipitation, wind speed and solar radiation. The best part of implementing AI in agriculture that it won’t eliminate the jobs of human farmers rather it will improve their processes. AI provides more efficient ways to produce, harvest and sell essential crops. Companies are developing and programming autonomous robots to handle essential agricultural tasks such as harvesting crops at a higher volume and faster pace than human laborers. Agricultural robots, crop and soil monitoring, predictive analytics are the applications of AI.

3. In Industries

The influence of AI technology can be seen across all sectors. Most of the industries are using AI. From driverless cars to virtual doctors, artificial intelligence is transforming the way we live, work, travel. PwC estimates that AI could add as much as $15.7 trillion to the global economy by 2030. The expertise of British AI companies, some of the worlds most innovative, will contribute greatly to this increase in global economic growth and productivity. Healthcare, education, marketing retail and ecommerce and financial markets and services these companies uses AI most.

4. In Business

Artificial intelligence can improve customer service with the use of chatbots and recommendation systems, increase revenue by identifying and maximizing sales opportunities, predict product demand, classify customers, predict customer behaviour, detect fraudulent credit card transactions, detect malware, reviews. No human will be fast and yet perfect, as the AI technology in predictive analytics.

5. In daily life

AI assists in every area of our lives whether we are trying to read our emails get driving direction, get music or movie recommendations. It improves social media (twitter, Instagram, email etc.), it also improves email communication. It helps you for driving and parking car in your daily life. Online banking can also be done with the help of AI with high security.  Increased audience engagement, greater efficiency, smarter advertising, refined content targeting, reduced marketing costs with better ROI these are the advantages of the Artificial Intelligence.

As the result of this Artificial Intelligence makes our lives more efficient every day. Artificial Intelligence powers many programs and services that help us do everyday things such as connecting with friends using an email program, or using a ride-share service.
